50/50 club supports various parish, youth and school activities. Over the years sales have decreased and they now give out way more than half of what is collected. If we could get more sellers, even a few tickets a month, it would strengthen the club. The other possibility is to make it a true 50/50 and reduce the prizes. If you can help, tickets are available in the Sacristy before or after Mass. There is a list there to sign for whatever number you may need. Thanks for your consideration and support. 50/50 winners: 1st prize ($500) G. Loparco; 2nd prize ($50) Father St. John; 3rd prize ($25) G. Konisky.
Over 50
meeting will be after 12:00 Mass, Monday, March 1st. Bring your lunch; we will serve beverages and desserts. If we have time after the meeting, we will play bingo. Hope you had a good winter.
RECITATION OF THE ROSARY: First Tuesday of each month, after noon Mass. All parishioners are invited.
Dear Rosary Guild Members,
We are happy to welcome you all to the Rosary Guild. The Officers who will be serving you for the new year are:
Rosemary Mineau - President
Pat Keyes - Vice President
Marge Mineau - Secretary
Jo Keegan - Treasurer
Our parish family serves the needs of many, from the elderly to the very young. The Parish Thrift Shop, (open every Wednesday and Saturday) generates a great deal of income. As a result of this income, we are able to make many donations to our parish family. This year, our Thrift Shop is experiencing a shortage of workers. My goal is to increase the number of Thrift Shop volunteers during the 2007-2008 year. Please help in any way you can. Donating your time one or two days per month would greatly help the shop remain successful and enable us to continue to make donations to our parish family. We are very thankful to Angie Finn, Director of the Thrift Shop, and all the dedicated workers for their commitment to its success. The donations generated by the Thrift Shop are listed in this mailing.
We will continue to recite the Rosary after noon Mass on the first Tuesday of each month. The Rosary Guild members traditionally assist with cleaning and decorating the church for Christmas and Easter. We also attend wakes and funerals of our departed members, work at the parish family Festival, send cards to our homebound and nursing home parishioners, donate to the food pantry, and serve at other special events of the parish. Blessed Sacrament Parish is a true parish family because of your participation. Again, please consider helping in any way you can.
This year the Annual Baby Shower (traditionally held in March) will be moved and combined with our Spring Banquet. Easter occurs early this year so it necessitates changing our March meeting and activities. The Guild officers hope this change is not inconvenient for our members.
Enclosed is a book of raffle tickets for our yearly Thanksgiving Raffle. We appreciate your support of this raffle as the money raised helps with our donations to the Parish. Additional tickets are available from the Officers. Also, on the weekend of November 10th and 11th, Rosary guild members will be selling our Thanksgiving Raffle Tickets after all the Masses.
I look forward to serving the Rosary Guild as President this year. I am confident our efforts will continue to serve the parish in a positive way.
Sincerely,
Rosemary Mineau
President
