Outreach

Food Pantry

Our Parish based food pantry serves an average of 225 families each month.  As a member of "The Food Pantries of the Capital District", we follow the geographic boundaries put in place by this group.

We are open every Monday and Thursday from 10:00 - 11:15 AM except Holidays or day in which schools may be closed due to weather conditions.

Volunteers staff our Pantry and assist regularly with deliveries which we receive from the Regional Food Bank in Latham, New York twice a month.  In addition to our Food Pantry, we are able to assist our families through our Thrift Store (please refer to our "Thrift Store" ) and/or refer our families to area agencies to address their specific needs.  If you are aware of an area families that needs this assistance or if you would like to volunteer your services to make a difference in our community , please contact 482-3375.

We are always in need of soup, stew, hash, pork & beans, prepared meals and personal hygiene items. Anything you are able to bring is greatly appreciated. We appreciate all that you do for the needy in our area.

Our Parish Giving Tree Program

This program provides our area families with children ages Newborn - 14 years of age with Christmas gifts. We rely solely upon the generosity of our Parishioners who purchase a specific gift for a specific child from taking an ornament off our "Giving Trees" in our Church during the Christmas season. If you would like to help in this particular area of outreach to our community, please contact # 482-3375.

How can I help? You could help by organizing the families in need, placing the ornaments on the trees or organizing the gifts when they are purchased and returned.

Thrift Store

Our Parish Thrift Store provides a place for families in the area to purchase at very reasonable prices articles of clothing, shoes, boots, coats, dishware, glassware, lamps, books, small furniture pieces, young children's furniture, toys and much, much more.

The Thrift Store operate through the generosity of our parishioners and others who donate items. Our volunteers sort, organize and prepare these items for our customers. The hours of our Thrift Store are every Wednesday, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM and every Saturday, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM.

You can help the Parish and our community by volunteering to sort, organize and prepare the items during the Thrift Store hours. We need donations of articles to sell. You may donate your items (all in good condition, of course) during the Thrift Store hours or you my make other arrangements by calling our Parish Office # 482-3375 between 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM . There are many great buys available. Come and make a purchase at the best prices in town!

Visitation of Shut-Ins

This includes bringing Holy Communion to those confined to their homes, on a monthly basis, or more frequently if requested by a
shut-in.

We also visit those residing in nursing homes and health care facilities.

If you would like to help with these visitations, especially Christmas and Easter visitations to nursing homes, please contact the office #482-3375.
